What exactly is the Ameliaman Olympic Distance triathlon?

The Ameliaman Olympic Distance Triathlon is a Fall triathlon event that takes place in the northeast tip of Florida. The Ameliaman is set to take place on Amelia Island in early October and is organized by DRC Sports.

The triathlon consists of a 1.5k mile swim in the warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean from the main beach in Fernandina Beach. (Wetsuits will most likely be optional as expected water temperature is around 76 degrees.) Then a 40k bike ride through scenic Amelia Island on a flat and fast course and a glorious finish with a 10k out and back run that should have plenty of shade.

The race is an Alternative to the Atlantic Coast Triathlon and will feature relay teams, so make sure to register early for this event as prices go up after July.
